So here's my story...
My name is Tiffany, and I am a wife & mother of two beautiful children. I have a 3.5 year old son, and a 1 year old daughter. Ever since the birth of my son, I have struggled with balancing my family life and my career. I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting and worked through college to get ahead in my career before graduating. My husband and I got married the same month that I graduated and I got pregnant 10 months later. I had planned on becoming a CPA and had just started studying for the exams before I got pregnant, but chose to put in on hold to avoid the added stress during my pregnancy. I continued on in my same job until my son was a 1.5 and then took a Staff Accountant job where I could advance a little more in my career. Four months later, I got pregnant with my daughter. I was blessed enough to be home with her for 3 months before having to return to work. It was much harder to return to work that time having spent so much time home with my kids. I would go to work every day, come home exhausted and unable to be the mother and wife that I really wanted to be for my family. I found myself giving more effort towards my career than I was towards my family responsibilities. Laundry was piling up, the house was a constant disaster, we were spending tons of money eating out because I did not want to cook, and so on. It became clear to me on my 5 year wedding anniversary that I was not happy with myself and my priorities. So I began searching for part-time and/or work at home possibilities that would allow me to continue my career, but give my family more time than not. About a month later, when I was about to give up on the search, I was blessed with a couple of opportunities that made it possible for me to make the change. So I left my full-time job at a company that I truly loved working for, and here I am… Momma and a Half (Full time Mom, Part-time Accountant).
